Idling at the top of the hump. The BNSF Railway Corwith Yard. Chicago Illinois USA. March 2008.
I took this photo after work one afternoon, in March of 2008. Seen here on Chicago's southwest side in the Brighton Park neighborhood, are two BNSF Railway owned EMD roadswitchers idling at the top of the classification hump near the intersection of West 47th Street and South Archer Avenue. Prior to the 1995 merger that created todays BNSF Railway, this facility was owned and operated by the Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad. Notice the blue and yellow locomotive still wearing the colors and some markings of the predecessor railroad Santa Fe.
