I photographed this speeding eastbound Union Pacific freight train at the North Kilbourn Avenue railroad crossing, one overcast Spring morning in April of 2006. The lead locomotives are still wearing the colors of pre 1998 predecessor railroad Chicago & NorthWestern. These General Electric wide cab model AC 4400 CW heavy duty locomotives,were the last diesel locomotives ordered new by the Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad in 1994.
