I took this photo one summer morning, in June of 2007. The crew of a westbound Canadian National transfer freight train, has just recieved the clearance order on the radio from the dispatcher, and is now slowly proceeding toward the railroad crossing on Des Plaines Avenue in west suburban North Riverside Illinois. The train is traveling over the former Illinois Central Railroad, Iowa Division Mainline. The Canadian National Railroad had already acquired the Illinois Central through a 1999 merger.
