I found this classic steam era photo, at My link page "Yesteryear Depot" to the right of Your computer screen.

One of several Midwestern railroads that had served the city of Chicago Illinois for many years, was the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad.

The Rock Island was also one of many North American railroads, that was in a big hurry to dieselize their trains after World War 2 had ended. Back in the day, the "Rock Island Line" had utilized large 4-8-2 Mountain type steam locomotives on their many mainline freight trains.
