I found this electric trolley bus photo from San Francisco California USA at My Link page Tom's Trolleybus Pictures, located to the right of Your computer screen at www.trolleybuses.net

The citties of San Francisco California and Chicago Illinois actually had a few transit things in common many years ago. They both had electric streetcars, but Chicago ended their streetcar operations in 1958. The San Francisco Municipal Railway and the Chicago Transit Authority also operated electric trolleybuses, but Chicago ended this operation in 1973. Both citties and transit agencies also painted some of their bus equipment in this green and cream color scheme as well during the 1950's and 60's.

The Twin Coach Company of Kent Ohio, was known for their line of proapne powered transit buses, but also produced a number of electric powered trolleybuses during the late 1940's era. This photo was taken in the city of San Francisco, during the year of 1969. These buses were retired at some point during the 1970's, and one is known to be preserved today.

In the midwest, the Detroit Department of Street Railways also owned and operated these Twin Coach electric trolleybuses, and operated them until the end of service in Detroit Michigan during the year of 1962.

Although streetcars and trolleybuses are no longer found in the city of Chicago Illinois, they are alive and well today in San Francisco California USA.
