I took this now rare historic photo one Springtime evening around sunset, back in May of 1990.
We are facing west on South Lawndale Avenue at approximately West 49th Street, as an eastbound Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad switching local traveling over a single tracked and very heavilly ballasted branchline of the Belt Railway of Chicago, passes the construction site of the Chicago Transit Authority's orange line rapid transit to Chicago's Midway Airport.
