A popular family fun place that I used to enjoy visiting during the 1970's and 80's, was Irv's Golf Range in southwest suburban Bedford Park Illinois.
This nice little family owned golf driving range, miniature golf course and arcade facility, was located along the west side of South Cicero Avenue at approximately West 70th Street, just south of the adjacent Belt Railway of Chicago, Clearing Yard facility.
Irv's Golf Range closed after the 1991 season, and was sold to a real estate developer. Today, this is the site of a Wal Mart store that opened in 1992.
During the mid 1980's, I used to walk here from the nearby Ford City Shopping Center, and hit a bucket of golf balls before heading home via the CTA buses.
