I found this unique photograph at My Link page Fallen Flags.Org, located to the right of Your computer screen at www.rr-fallenflags.org

Just when You though that only steam locomotives, electric streetcars and a depot or two were pretty much the only thing that made it to historic preservation...guess again!

Photographer Frank Hicks, photographed preserved Northern Pacific Railroad 1950's era EMD FP 7 passenger diesel locomotive # 6703A and other historic equipment, at the Spokane County Fairgrounds in the city of Spokane Washington USA back in December of 2001.

The locomotive shown here, had replaced steam locomotives on Northern Pacific Railroad passenger trains. Long since retired from succesor Burlington Northern Railroad, this historic EMD first generation passenger service locomotive, has been cosmetically restored to the mid 1950's era Northern Pacific Railroad two tone green passenger train color scheme. These locomotives wore this color scheme, until the begining of Amtrak in 1971.

Thanks.
Eddie K.
