1960's era Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe switching local.

I photographed this digital live sound video this past spring, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers H.O Scale Model Railroad Club.

My then recently purchased "New" Bachman Alco S 4 yard switcher equipped with DCC and sound, pulls a reasonable facsimili of a 1960's era switching local, from the former Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad.

The Santa Fe used this black and silver zebra stripe color scheme on their yard switchers and hood unit road switcher diesel electric locomotives from 1950 to 1960. Although the Santa Fe had switched to a dark blue with yellow ends and lettering color scheme by 1960, several A,T & S,F yard switchers operated in this color scheme until approximately 1968, as it took awhile to get around to either repainting or retiring the locomotives in the zebra stripe color scheme.
