C,B & Q and NKP two train meet.

I photographed this digital live sound video last week Wednsday, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers,H.O Scale Model Railroad Club.

Model railroad clubs are sometimes a magical place, where one could turn back the hands of time with miniature models of once popular and now long gone railroads of the past.

A 1950's era diesel powered freight train from the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad, meets a late 1950's era freight train from the former New York, Chicago & St. Louis Railroad, which was known as the Nickel Plate Road.

The Nickle Plate Road was acquired through merger along with the Wabash Railroad by the Norfolk & Western in 1964. The Chicago, Burlington & Quincy disappeared in a March 1970 mega merger of the C,B & Q, the Northern Pacific, The Great Northern, and the Spokane, Portland & Seatle Railroads...which became the Burlington Northern Railroad.
