Two Jay's Restaurant on West 47th Street. (Gone) Chicago Illinois. September 1988.

Hi everyone!

Welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page, from the city of Chicago Illinois USA.

I grew up on the near southwest side of Chicago many years ago, and have many happy memories of some of the local south and southwest side Chicago business establishments that have come and gone.

Seen here is one of my favorite local Chicago neighborhood eateries, known as Two Jay's Restaurant.

Two Jay's Restaurant, was located on west 47th Street near South Kostner Avenue, in Chicago's Archer Heights neighborhood near Midway Airport.

This restaurant was located along the south side of West 47th Street, across the street from a local industrial park. The food was tasty and inexpensive, and weekdays would often find several local factory workers and truck drivers dining here at either breakfast or lunchtime. Sometimes in groups.

Two Jay's eventually closed at some point during the 1990's, and was sold. This place eventually became a Mexican owned seafood restaurant.

I would dine here occasionally with some of my buddies from the southwest side of Chicago way back during the 1980's era.

Thanks.
Eddie K.

Steps away from my former apartment in the 4600 block of Karlov. I remember the place well. Thanks.
