Big changes are coming to Brighton Junction in 2007. On an April 2007 visit to the old steam era railroad junction at Archer and western Avenues, I found that the "Writing was on the wall", in regards to the future of this old railfan hangout.

The old fashioned manually operated semaphore signals, are scheduled for replacement in the near future. These were the preparations for the new block signals at the crosstracks.

Time and technology have caught up to Chicago's Brighton Junction after all these years.
