Intermodal transfer train entering the BNSF Railway's Corwith Yard at the soouth entrance. Chicago Illinois USA. June 2007.

I took this photo just east of South Lawndale Avenue near West 50th Street, back in June of 2007. During the early to mid 1980's, I had photographed a number of hump yard switching movements on the former Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad at this location.

It seems like the old rebuilt EMD GP-9's and Slug units from the former A,T & S,F are gone today, and have been replaced by big and husky mainline road engines for heavy switching.
