The 7 and 1/2 inch guage railroad. The Hesston Steam Museum. Hesston Indiana USA. June 1990.

One of My all time favorite midwest railfan attractions to visit, is the Hesston Steam Museum. The museum is also known locally as the La Porte County Historical Steam Society, and they have several fine examples of operating steam locomotives and antique tractors here.

This is one of the trains that operates on the 7 and 1/2 inch guage railroad. This train was operated by a Father and Son team, and their collection of freight cars is lettered for the imaginary "Little Joe Railroad". Notice that the tender on this blue 4-6-2 pacific type has yet to be painted. These little engines are quiete powerfull, and contrary to popular belief...are actually able to pull a train full of Adults too.

The Hesston Steam Museum is located on road # County Line 1000 N in Hesston Indiana. This is near both Michigan City Indiana and New Buffalo Michigan near the State border.
