Chicago at night. Chicago Illinois USA. June 2008.

Downtown Chicago at night.

I took this photo one night in June of 2008, in the downtown section of the city of
Chicago Ilinois. I took this photo at the intersection of Clark and Washington
Streets, just across the street from Chicago's Daley Plaza. The lights of downtown
Chicago stay on long after the stores and businesses close for the night. Unless
of course there is some sort of a power outage or major blackout. ( It's happened.)
The night time air is filled with the sounds of street sweeper vechicles from the
Chicago department of Streets and Sanitation, the large decorative ground leval
water fountain in Daley Plaza, radios blasting from passing cars, CTA buses and
occasional rapid transit trains, private refuse garbage trucks making their pick
up collection at various down town loading docks. Sometimes the streets of downtown
Chicago get blocked off at certain locations for Hollywood motion picture filming.
Mostly it is quiet afer a certain time. Still this is a nice night scene from
the Windy city on a summer night.
