Amtrak switchers at work. Chicago Illinois USA. November 1983.

Amtrak switchers at work.

Hi everyone!
Welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page from the city of Chicago Illinois.

This photo was taken during My early days as a local Chicago Railfan Photographer, and was taken way back in November of 1983. We are looking south from the West Roosevelt Road overpass bridge just outside of downtown Chicago Illinois. Two classic EMD first generation model SW-1 diesel yard switcher locomotives, are seen working the south leads to Chicago Union Station. This is a rare behind the scenes view of Amtrak's terminal operations in the city of Chicago during the early 1980's.
