Locomotives from fallen flag predecessor railroads working the former Illinois Central RR Crawford Yard. Chicago Illinois USA. April 2007.

Canadian National yard switching activity with fallen flag predecessor railroad locomotives. Hawthorne Yard. Chicago Illinois. April 2007.

I took this photo after work one afternoon, in early April of 2007.

It is the very begining of the springtime season in the greater Chicagoland area, and there is still quiete a bit of wintertime straw brown scenery and overcast skies to be had. Seen here at approximately West 33rd Street and South Kostner Avenue at the former Illinois Central Railroad Crawford Yard east of Cicero Illinois, are two EMD locomotives from predecessor railroads Grand Trunk Western, and the Illinois Central. These two fallen flag railroad locomotives, are now assembling tank car trains for the Canadian National Railroad at this former Illinois Central facility.
