The northeast corner of South Archer and Kedzie avenues in Chicago's Brighton Park neighborhood. Chicago Illinois. January 1980.

I took this vintage early 1980's Chicago neighborhood photograph, way back in January of 1980. It is the weekday afternoon rush hour looking north at the intersection of South Archer and Kedzie Avenues in Chicago's Brighton Park neighborhood on a sunny and cold winter afternoon. Many neighborhood locals, are more than likely inside the old Huck Finn Donuts enjoying a nice hot cup of coffee abd some fresh pastries. An old stepvan delivery truck for Vitner's Potato Chips is parked along the east side of South Kedzie Avenue making a local delivery of snacks.
Notice the old Crane Plumbing Supply tower to the right of the photo.

The old Crane building was eventually taken over by the Atchinson, Topeka & santa Fe Railroad , and their corporate logo replaced the old clock on the tower. The building was eventually demolished in 1993. The old Huck Fin Donuts no longer occupies the northeast corner of South Archer and Kedzie Avenues. The building is still there today, but it is now a Yale Auto Insurance Agency.
