I took this photo on a recent visit to the Metra / Hanson Park commuter flagstop depot just to the west of the North Central Avenue overpass bridge. Freight trains bypass the depot on tracks just south of it.
I spotted this modern Norfolk Southern waffle sided Hi Cube box car, coupled on to a Canadian Pacific freight train that was waiting on a hold order. This view shows the up close detail found on the door of this boxcar. An aid to model railroad enthusiasts nonetheless.
