Petticoat Junction intro
One of My favorite television shows I had grown up watching during the 1960's and 70's when I was a kid, was none other than Petticoat Junction.
The show aired on CBS from 1962 until 1970.
The locomotive used on the show was Sierra Railroad #3, a 4-6-0 Ten Wheeler type steam locomotive that wasbuilt by the Rogers Locomotive Works of Patterson New Jersey in the year of 1891. This locomotive was used for several western movies and TV shows, and was rebuilt recently.
The locomotive operates today at the Railtown 1897 tourist railroad in Jamestown California, wich is operated by the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento California.
