Passing H.o freight train.

I took this photograph last month, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers, H.O Scale Model Railroad Club.

An Illinois Central Railroad freight train owned and operated by fellow club member Mitch, passes over the temporary Missisippi River bridge.

The blue modernized box car to the left, is from the pre CSX Chessie System Railroad which existed from 1972 to 1986. The two Illinois Central coiled steel hauling cars are from two different eras.

The black and orange coiled steel car to the left, is from the former Illinois Central Gulf which existed from 1972 to 1986. The black coiled steel car to the right, represents the "New" and reorganized post 1986 Illinois Central, which was eventually acquired by the Canadian National through merger in 1999.

Eras and prototypes are frequently mixed at any given operating session at the club. Steam and diesel locomotives often run side by side. Steam powered trains occasionally haul a few modern Hi Cube box cars in the consist as well.

Thanks.
Eddie K.
