I took this now rare and historic photograph of a maintenance of way crew at work from the former Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad, way back in September of 1985.
I was attending the annual members day event at the adjacent Illinois Railway Museum in Union Illinois, when I spotted this maintenance crew from the Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad, performing some repairs at the Olson Road railroad crossing.
The Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad is now a fallen flag railroad of the past, as the Union Pacific acquired this railroad through merger during the mid 1990's.
