A 1970's era ICG auto parts train crossing the high steel trestle.

I photographed this digital video recently, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers,H.O Scale
Model Railroad Club, located at 255 Augusta Street in Oak Park Illinois. This friendly club meets in the basement of the Oak Park Public Library's Dole Learning Center building for their weekly operating session from 7 to 9 pm on Wednsday nights. Visitors are welcome to stop in to look.

The early days of the 1972 merger of the Illinois Central and the former Gulf, Mobile & Ohio railroads, are being recreated here in this video shot on the club layout. In a scene out of the early 1970's era, a former Gulf, Mobile & Ohio Railroad diesel locomotive acquired through merger, pulls an early merger era Illinois Central Gulf Railroad auto parts train across the tall steel trestle.
