One of several North American railroads that was definitely in a big hurry to dieselize their operations after World War 2 had ended, was the southwestern regional railroad Kansas City Southern Railroad. Here is one of their early dieselized freight trains being pulled by KCS EMD F 3 # 54 near Sulpher Springs Texas during the year of 1949.
