I took this photograph recently, at the Mc Donald's fast food restaurant on Willow Road in north suburban Glenview Illinois.
Prior to the 1980's, most fast food restaurants had served soft drinks with beverage dispensing machines located behind the counter areas.
Today, self service beverage dispensing machines like this model from Coca Cola, have long since become the industry standard in this age of convenience.
