I took this photograph on a hot early summer day in June of 2007. An eastbound CTA Orange line train to downtown Chicago, has just departed the South Pulaski Road station, and is seen approaching the South Lawndale Avenue underpass bridge enroute to the next stop at South Kedzie Avenue. The ground leval track in the foreground, belongs to the Belt Railway of Chicago, and serves the nearby BNSF Corwith Yard. The overhead floodlights behind the train, mark the location of the Curie High School / Chicago Park District -athletic field. I attended Curie High School from 1977 to 1981, and enjoyed many an outdoor gym class here.Friday, August 24, 2007
