Metra and CP Rail running side by side. The Hanson Park commuter rail depot. Chicago Illinois USA. August 2007.

I took this unique side by side comparison photo after work one rainy day, in August of 2007. A westbound Metra express commuter train, has been dispatched to run on the "Wrong" -normally eastbound mainline. To the right is a slow moving westbound 3 unit set of Canadian Pacific diesel locomotives running light. The rail line to the left through the Hanson Park depot, is used strictly for Merta commuter trains, while the line to the right, is a bypass line for freight trains leading to and from nearby Cragin Junction one mile east of here. This is the former Milwaukee Road line. The overpass bridge in the background, is North Central Avenue.
