I took this photo looking east, from the Manheim Road -U.S Route # 12 /45 overpass bridge. A three unit set of Union Pacific EMD Roadswitchers, are seen idling in the hot summer sun approximately 6 city blocks east of the diesel shop. Proviso Yard is a major railroad hub terminal located in Chicago's near northwest suburbs. Prior to the 1998 merger and absorbtion by the Union Pacific, this was a Chicago & Northwestern Railroad facility.Tuesday, August 21, 2007
