Southbound Amtrak train from Milwaukee Wisconsin. The Metra Forest Glen flagstop depot. Chicago Illinois USA. August 2007.

I took this mid day photo looking north, at the Metra Forest Glen commuter flagstop depot on Chicago's far northwest side. An inbound Amtrak Hiawatha Service passenger train from Milwaukee Wisconsin, is seen passing through the Forest Glen depot at North Elston Avenue. The locomotive is actually no longer a locomotive, but rather an old 1970's era EMD F-40PH that Amtrak converted into a baggage car with a control cab, like a Metra commuter coach cab car. The Amtrak cab control baggage car is still painted in a weathered Amtrak Phase # 3 paint scheme from the early 1980's. On the opposite end of the train, is a General Electric P-42 Genesis Series passenger locomotive pushing the train to Chicago Union Station.
