One of My all time favorite Chicago railroad photographs I had taken in the mid 1980's, is this one of a Chessie System transfer train crossing the diamonds at Hayford Junction at West 75th Street and South Central Park Avenue. The Chessie System, Seabord Coast Line, Louisville & Nashville, SCL /L&N Family Lines, and the short lives Seabord ,System had all merged during the mid 1980's and became todays CSX Transportation Company. Hayford Junction is still a busy Chicagoland railroad junction today.
