One of My all time favorite Chicago railroad photographs I had taken in the mid 1980's, is this one of a Chessie System transfer train crossing the diamonds at Hayford Junction at West 75th Street and South Central Park Avenue. The Chessie System, Seabord Coast Line, Louisville & Nashville, SCL /L&N Family Lines, and the short lives Seabord ,System had all merged during the mid 1980's and became todays CSX Transportation Company. Hayford Junction is still a busy Chicagoland railroad junction today.Welcome to my rail fan page! Here you'll find information and pictures of railroad related items from the Chicagoland area, Wisconsin and Indiana. Enjoy your stay. All Aboard!
