I took this picture looking northwest, from U.S Route # 34 Ogden Avenue in the west suburban village of Cicero Illinois. The sun was setting on another hazy, hot and humid Chicago summer day, as I spotted these two veteran locomotives from two railroads that were absorbed through recent mergers. The locomotive to the left, is a 1950's vintage EMD model SD-9 six axel roadswitcher, still in post 1970 Burlington Northern colors and partial BNSF markings.
The unit to the right, is a mid 1990's era General Electric model AC 4400 CW still wearing its former Conrail colors and markings in 2007.
