I took this photo during early October of 1983, in the west suburban village of La Grane Illinois. This view is looking east from the south platform of the Stone Avenue station. A westbound Burlington Northern freight train is seen with 1st Generation ( 1950's era) EMD high hood roadswitchers on the head end. It was a lovely Autum day in Chicagoland, and those early EMD 567 engine blocks were making their own unique sound as the train was accelerating westbound under heavy load conditions.
