I took this photo in Silverton Colorado way back in 1981.
I was enjoying a nice Family vacation to Colorado and New Mexico during the summer of 1981. A former Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad narrow guage 1920's era Baldwin 2-8-2 type steam locomotive, is seen simmering away at the station, in the old mining town of Silverton Colorado. The Denver & Rio Grande Western had just sold their Silverton branch and antique equipment used on tourist trains, to a new franchise operator in early 1981, who promptly changed the name to the Durango & Silverton Railroad, wich is still named as such today.
