Indiana Harbor Belt switching local backing up. Melrose Park Illinois USA. October 2007.

A crewmember on the rear platform of a grafitti tagged IHB transfer caboose, is telling the locomotive engineer on the other end of a two car switching local to proceed slowly on his radio.

I spotted this rarely seen Indiana Harbor Belt industrial switching local at work, on Tuesday, October 30th 2007, in northwest suburban Melrose Park Illinois. These tracks run along the south side of Armitage Street between 25th Avenue, to just west of U.S Route # 12 /45 Manheim Road.

Out of view to the left, is another crewmember who just flagged the railroad crossing for the stop and go train to proceed west past Manheim Road. This train originates out of nearby Norpaul Yard. It was a great Autum day to be on location with a camera.

Maybe it's an optical illusion, but that stop sign looks waaayyy too close to the track!
