W.L.U.P Radio FM 98 Beatles mural at West 35th Street and South California Avenue. ( gone) Chicago Illinois USA. May 1989.

Hi everyone!
Welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page.
I took this photograph at West 35th Street and South California Avenue on Chicago's near southwest side, in May of 1989.

This mural billboard was sponsored by W.L.U.P Radio FM 98 in Chicago aka The Loop, and honors the legendary 1960's Brittish Invasion rock music group known as The Beatles.

On June 2nd 1967, The Beatles officially released their Sergent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album, and immediately was considered to be the album that changed music forever. It was an ingenious collection of "New and Improved" studio recordings and experimental techniques that had reinvented the group once known as The Fab Four, and proved how they were constantly reinventing themselves untill the groups official break up in 1970. It was a Psychedelic masterpiece album, and many of the album's songs are played on Classic Rock radio stations across the nation today. This billbard honors the Sergent Pepper album's 20th Anniversary.

I am glad I took this photograph when I did, because this building has long since been demolished. Don't take anything for granted, please go out and take those photos.

Thank You.
Eddie K.

You made My day today Eddie!
I am a lifelong Beatles Fan.
I enjoyed the Sergent Pepper and the Magical Mystery Tour albums, but I have a soft spot in My heart for the Revolver album from 1966.

Thanks!

Frank.
