MJ Railway picking up boxcars from the CN Hawthorne Yard. Hawthorne Junction. Chicago Illinois USA. January 2007.

One of My favorite trains I had photographed in 2007, and certainly one of the most elusive, was this little three car interchange local from the nearby Manufacturer's Junction Railway in Cicero Illinois. This little shortline, approximately two miles long, utilizes this 1st Generation EMD SW-1 switching locomotive from the late 1940's and early 1950's era, in EMD Demonstrator style color scheme from that forgotten era. This old locomotive has just picked up three boxcars from the Canadian National ex Illinois Central Hawthorne Yard in nearby Cicero Illinois.
