I found this photo at My Link page Fallen Flags.Org, located to the right of Your computer screen.

Growing up in the city of Chicago Illinois during the late 1960's and early 1970's era, has left Me with many happy memories of railroading from this era.

The Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad had realized early on, that cupola cabooses were impractical, due to the fact that freight cars were becoming taller, and freight trains were becoming longer and heavier daily.

To keep up with this change in modern railroading during the era when cabooses were still bringing up the rear of the freight trains, the Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad would soon acquire a large fleet of Bay Window cabooses. This photo was taken in the city of Chicago Illinois, on the date of September 2nd, 1973.
