I found this old steam era photograph from 1936, at My Link Page Fallen Flags.Org, located to the right of Your computer screen.

The 4-6-0 Ten Wheeler type steam locomotive, was a popular dual service machine during the late 1800's and early 1900's. The former Milwaukee Road was a Class 1 railroad user of this type of steam locomotive.

When the freight and passenger trains eventually became too long and heavy for these machines to continue in daily mainline operations without the need for doubleheading with another locmotive, the Milwaukee Road would eventually reassign these engines to branchline freight trains, and Chicago area commuter trains.

This locomotive, is seen in Elgin Illinois during 1936.
