The Oak Park Society of Model Engineers H.O Scale Model Railroad Club. Oak Park Illinois USA. March 2011.

I took this photo recently, during an operating session at the Oak Park Society Of Model Engineers H.O Scale Model Railroad Club.

I grew up in the city of Chicago Illinois during the 1960's and 70's. A favorite Chicago railroad of Mine, going back to My childhood, was the former Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad from pre 1970 times.

The C,B & Q had began to paint some of their road freight hood unit diesel locomotives and some freight cars, in to this red color scheme begining in the late 1950's.

A always enjoyed the colors, markings equipment and facilities that the old C,B & Q had to offer prior to the March 2nd 1970 merger with the GN, NP, and S,P & S that created the Burlington Northern.

The Oak Park Society of Model Engineers H.O Scale Model Railroad Club, is located at 255 West Augusta Boulevard, in the Oak Park Public Library's Dole Learning Center building.
