The Oak Park Society of Model Engineers H.O Scale Model Railroad Club. Oak Park Illinois USA. Early April 2011., a photo by Eddie from Chicago on Flickr.
I took this photo during a recent visit, to The Oak Park Society Of Model Engineers H.O Scale Model Railroad Club, in west suburban Oak Park Illinois USA.
I can't physically bring back the 1960's in real life, and those so called "Time Machines" that are featured in so many science fiction movies, have not been invented yet.
Thanks to the many models that are available in H.O and other modeling scales, Myself and My fellow model railroaders at the club, are able to somewhat "Recreate" this or most any other historical era in miniature.
Seen here, is My 1960's era Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad freight train approaching a bridge.
I could recall seeing many of the Santa Fe's trains like this growing up on the near southwest side of Chicago Illinois during the late 1960's and early 70's era.
The locomotive, is an Athearn model of an EMD model GP 35 roadswitcher locomotive from approximately 1964, while the orange car, is a 50 foot mechanical refridgerator car introduced by the Santa Fe during the 1960's.
The Santa Fe used this blue with yellow ends color scheme, from 1960 until 1972.
