The Oak Park IL Society Of Model Engineers H.O Model Railroad Club.

I photographed this digital live sound video recently, at The Oak Park Society Of Model Engineers H.O Scale Model Railroad Club, located in west suburban Oak Park Illinois.

The steam era was alive and well on this visit, as fellow club member Rich, was operating His Bachman Spectrum Series Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad 3700 class 4-8-4 Northern # 3768 on the club layout.

Although I was born too late to experience the "Steam Era" firsthand in Chicago, it is great just being able to see what it was like in miniature. The Santa Fe operated steam in to the mid 1950's, and luckilly set aside several steam locomotives for display at the end of the steam era.

Atchionson, Topeka & Santa Fe 4-8-4 Northern # 2903 formerly displayed outdoors in the backyard of the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, is now located at The Illinois Railway Museum in the town of Union Illinois. www.irm.org
