SP # 4449 blowing the whistle. Franklin Park IL. Aug 1st, 2009.
I photographed this digital live sound video, on Saturday, August 1st 2009.
Preserved 1941 built Southern Pacific GS 4 class 4-8-4 Northern type steam locomotive # 4449, was passing through Chicago Ilinois on the return leg from the Michigan Train Fest celebration at Owosso Michigan.
During the locomotives visit to the Chicago area, # 4449 spent Saturday afernoon on August 1st on display, in near northwest suburban Franklin Park Illinois.
A light rain was falling on and off on that overcast and damp afternon.
The operating crew of SP # 4449, is viewed demonstrating the steam whistle at the display site adjacent to preserved former Milwaukee Road Tower B 12.
