Indiana Harbor Belt industrial switching local on a lenghty back up move. Melrose Park Illinois USA. October 2007.

I was lucky this past Tuesday, as I happened to finally catch a glimpse of the very elusive IHB switching local that runs alongside Armitage Street in Melrose Park Illinois. A heavilly grafitti tagged IHB transfer caboose with two flagman onboard, is slowly backing up toward Manheim Road U.S Route # 12 / 45 in northwest suburban Melrose Park Illinois with a short train consisting of two covered hopper cars. One crewman flags the crossings, while the other one radios back up commands to the locomotive engineer at the rear of the train. This train operates out of nearby Norpaul Yard to the east of this location.
