I took this photo one overcast Chicago afternoon, in November of 1983. A westbound Milwaukee Road / RTA commuter rail train enroute to Fox Lake Illinois, is seen arriving at the Western Avenue commuter rail station near North Western Avenue and West Hubbard Street. The following year would see the creation of todays Metra commuter rail system . It was a quiet and gloomy November afternoon in the windy city, but still a great time to get together with a railfan buddy and go on location with a camera in hand that day.
