I took this photo on Grand Avenue near the intersection at Thatcher, in Febuary of 2008. Local Chicago icons "The Blues Brothers", are represented with these life sized sculptures of 1970's era former NBC Saturday Night Live TV show cahracters Jake and Elwood Blues, created by the late great John Belushi and Dan Akroyd.
After many 1960's R&B revival musical performances on SNL and eventually live concerts,former Saturday Night Live comic actors John Belushi and Dan Akroyd
starred in the 1980 feature film "The Blues Brothers.
Stll popular in the windy city many years after the fact, The Blues Brothers are indeed a local Chicagoland Icon today.
