I took this photo on a somewhat mild and sunny afternoon, in December of 1990. A northbound Chicago & Northwestern Railroad transfer freight train, is seen heading northbound past Argo Tower and Junction in southwest suburban Summit Illinois. The train is traveling over the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad, and passing over the Illinois Central ex Gulf, Mobile & Ohio Railroad crosstracks at Argo Junction. Argo Tower controlled train traffic through the junction here until 1993. It was slowly dismantled in stages until it was completely demolished altogether in 1995.
