Chicago Transit Authority 1983 Canadian Flyer transit bus. Chicago Illinois USA. July 1986.
I took this photo on a hot summer afternoon, in July of 1986. We are at the end of the line terminal for the CTA Route # 52A South Kedzie Avenue bus line, located at West 115th Street and South Springfield Avenue at the Chicago city limits. This terminal is located in Chicago's Mount Greenwood neighborhood, just footsteps away from south suburban Alsip Illinois. The CTA bought these 40 foot transit buses from Flyer of Canada in 1983, and were in service until being phased out of regular passenger service in the mid 1990's. Some of these became maintenance work service buses later on.
