Chicago Gravel Company # 18 and display train buried in snow. Bensenville Illinois USA. Early Febuary 2008.
Heavy lake effect snowstorms had fallen on the greater Chicagoland area in early Febuary of 2008. Bensenville Illinois near Chicago's O'Hare International Airport was especially hard hit. 1922 Alco built 0-6-0 steam locomotive # 18 and the accompanying display train in Veterans Park on Main Street in Bensenville, are seen buried in heavy snowfall. This locomotive was donated to Bensenville in 1961, and has no doubt been buried in snow numerous times for the past several decades at this location.
