RTA Grauman transit bus on Hillgrove Avenue. La Grange Illinois USA. January 1987.
I took this photograph one winter afternoon in 1987. A Grauman transit bus from the nation formerly known as West Germany, waits on Hillgrove Avenue just east of the intersection at La Grange Road. This was the end of the line, terminal for suburban RTA buses from the Route # 322 Cermak Road and Route # 302 Ogden Stanley Avenue RTA bus lines that terminated in west suburban La Grange Illinois. These bus lines were originally operated by the West Towns Bus Company, and later RTA. Todays Pace was formed in 1984, and there were still many buses rolling around in 1970's and early 1980's era RTA markings at the time of this photo. The bus was parked by the La Grange Bank Building. I used to take the RTA buses to La Grange Illinois quite a bit at this point in time, as well as the adjacent Burlington Northern commuter trains.
