Eastbound CTA Skokie Swift train at Crawford Avenue. Skokie Illinois USA. Early March 2009.
I photographed this digital live sound video on a cold and windy afternoon in early March of 2009. An eastbound Chicago Transit Authority Skokie Swift / Yellow Line train enroute to the Howard Street station in nearby north suburban Evanston Illinois, is viewed speeding past the Crawford Avenue CTA railroad crossing in Skokie Illinois. This line is a preserved and rebuilt 5 mile section section of the
abandoned Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee electric interurban railroad. This was part of their Skokie Valley mainline. It reopened in April of 1964 as the CTA Skokie Swift line.
